Meet Me

Hey! Welcome to my blog, the comfy, cozy living room of Kricia Morris Photography. My name is Kricia, and this is the place where you will learn more about my business, my current clients and my life in general. My family, my friends and my career have blessed me with an amazing life! I love taking pictures, Starbucks eggnog chai lattes, the beach, my iPhone, twitter and books of all varieties. I can't wait to meet you, we're going to have a great time!

Meet My Photography

Besides my son, photography is probably the single most amazing thing that has come into my life. I LOVE my job and sharing that passion with people gives me a purpose and direction in my life. My approach to every appointment is to find out what makes you unique, special and fabulously amazing. I want everyone to be comfortable and to have FUN in front of the lens. Everyone has a story inside of them. My goal is to find that story and give it back to you in the form of images that you'll carry with you for a lifetime.

2012 Awards! | Hawaii Wedding Photographer

The year of the dragon is officially off to a fantastic start here at Kricia Morris Photography!  I was notified earlier this month that I was the recipient of not only the 2012 Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Award but also the 2012 The Knot Best of Weddings award!  I couldn’t have made either of these goals without the support of my fantastic couples over the past year.  Y’all are the reason I do what I do and I’m tremendously grateful to have had the opportunity to meet each and every one of you.  MUCH mahalo and aloha!

Meet ME and a Giveaway! | Hawaii Wedding Photographer

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is not just any Monday, I hope that everyone is embracing the Chinese New Year today by ringing in the 2012 Year of the Dragon!

What many people don’t know is that today is also National Handwriting Day…yeah, I’m not sure what knowing that fact says about me either.  Regardless of my nerd status, I’d like to celebrate this obviously VERY important holiday with my first giveaway of 2012!  Two of my everyday, can’t live without products are Sharpie Pens and Moleskin Notebooks, both of which are the perfect fit for your purse, planner or vehicle.  One of my goals for this year is to keep myself organized, so here’s to sharing that goal with y’all!  Enter to win a Moleskine classic notebook and set of Sharpie retractable fine point pens which will be given away next week!  To enter, leave a comment on the post below telling me what you’ll use your brand new notebooks for!  For additional chances to win Tweet this post and leave an additional comment with the link letting me know that you shared the blog post, or share the post on FB, linking back to me in a comment below!  Looking forward to seeing everyone’s entries!

Linda Close - My daughter must have gotten it from me -- but her obsession is a lot greater than mine! :) I'm working on being super organized this year to get life and all of it's facets together so I don't miss out on anything because I forgot it! lol Organization is my friend, organization is my friend.........

JODI CROCKETT - As this is also the Year of the PCS for The Crockett Family, I can surely say I need notebooks and pens. I am a bit of an overplanner, if you will. When in PCS Mode, I have a notebook for the new duty station, with possible rental communities, future school info, contact info for the next housing office, etc. I also have a notebook for the present duty station with lists of who to contact before leaving, what I need to do to "ckeck-out", friends contact info for in-transit post card sending, kids "must-have-on-the-trip" lists, etc. You get the point... I hope. ;o)

Amy Parker - Hmmm....I'm guessing the use of those products would be PCS involved! I'd love to be more organized. It's one of my goals this year!

JODI CROCKETT - Tag, you're it!! On Facebook. Hehehe

Getting to Know Me – Life in Hawaii | Kauai Photographer

Top things about my job?  1) Meeting AWESOME people that become my friends.  2) Doing something that I absolutely adore for “work” and 3) Getting to travel to the beautiful areas that y’all share with me during your special days and moments!  Earlier this month I traveled over to Kauai for the beautiful ceremony held for Jen and Kay (will be hitting the blog next week!) and while I was there I decided to grab a few snaps of the gorgeous countryside.  This is something I definitely need to do more of, even here on my home island of Oahu.  Be on the lookout for more Hawaii shots in the future, I truly am blessed to live in paradise.  Enjoy y’all!

Baby E | Hawaii Newborn Photography

It’s not everyday that I get to sit in my office and cuddle with a newborn, but on the days when it does happen my life is that much sweeter!  Enjoy this sneak peek of Baby E, born December 26, 2011 to two parents who are clearly smitten and in awe of their creation.  Happy Friday everyone!

Getting to Know ME – Some of My Favorite Things | Hawaii Photographer

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Wednesdays.  You’re halfway through your week, but I’ve yet to discover if that is a good or bad thing for a busy person!  So, because of my crazy indecisiveness over this day of the week I’ve decided to create my own positive to look forward to: a blog post to share with y’all that will let you know a little bit more about who I am when I’m NOT behind the camera.

If you walked up to any of my friends and asked them what my strongest trait is they would probably all unanimously answer that I am an extremely organized individual, to the point where one of my best friends jokes with me that I suffer from Compulsive Disorder of Obsessiveness, because obviously the words need to be in alphabetical order!  It wouldn’t be my charming wit, my sparkling sense of humor or my dashing good lucks.  Nope, Kricia is good with a day planner.  Thanks guys…I think.  :)

Conveniently enough January happens to be National Organizing Month, which might just make me jump up and down a little bit in my office in sheer giddiness…when nobody is looking that is.  Check out the link for a great calendar/to do board offered by Franklin Covey, which might just be one of my top ten favorite companies in the world.  Visions of highlighted to do lists, post it note pads of random facts and large calendars with color coded day options fill my mind!  I am the kind of person that growing up looked forward to back to school shopping; not for the clothes but for the brand new pens, folders and notebooks that were just waiting to be used!  Please feel free to insert a chuckle here, Office Max IS my happy place.  With that being said I’d like to share a couple of products with y’all that I truly use on a weekly, if not daily basis that help me balance my crazy life of being a wife, mommy, photographer, taxi service, PTA president and individual.  I hope that they bring a little bit of order to your life as well and that you enjoyed this insight into my chaotic life or order :)   Click on the pictures below to take you to the website where I typically purchase them.

This is truly my every day, can’t live without out, world might come to an end if It wasn’t near me planner.  I write EVERYTHING down or I simply won’t remember with everything that I have going on.  This fantastic planner has monthly calendar pages, a two page spread per week, as well as notes, addresses and other goodies in the back.  I love the spiral bound spine, which allows me to write on both sides of the page easily, plus it’s the absolute perfect size to throw into my purse on my way to a meeting.  I can’t speak highly enough for this amazing planner!

imageSharpie PENS.  That don’t smear.  That write beautifully.  Enough said.

imageThis grocery list changed my life when I found it.  It’s already organized into the sections of the grocery store for you and it has convenient blank spaces to fill in your more unusual products.  It’s backed by a strong magnet and is the perfect product to leave on your fridge.imageThis Calendar is HUGE.  It’s exactly the right size to hang on the wall in my office so when I’m on the phone or shooting out e-mails to clients I can look up and see exactly what I have going on.  Not to mention, it’s incredibly beautiful with the various colors, patterns and typography featured throughout.

alisa greig - sheesh. i wish i had a fraction of your organizational skill! maybe i would've been a better business person, ha! good for you!! happy 2012 krish!

Kricia - Girl you're funny! Some of my friends tell me that I should give classes lol
